It happens in almost every family after a heart attack or bypass: the stairs become forbidden, the morning walk is cancelled, and someone hides the gate key with love. The instinct is understandable and, according to cardiology, exactly backwards. Supervised exercise after a cardiac event is one of the most protective things a heart can get. The problem was never exercise. It was unsupervised exercise.

So we supervise, properly. Every cardiac session here runs inside the limits your cardiologist sets, with heart rate tracked and effort graded on the Borg scale throughout. Intensity rises only when your numbers say you are ready. Treadmill, cycle, strength work, stairs, and week by week something quietly returns that no report can measure: trust in your own heartbeat.

Is exercise really safe after a heart attack?

With medical clearance and proper monitoring, yes. Supervised cardiac rehabilitation is proven to reduce the risk of future events. The dangerous path is usually prolonged inactivity out of fear.

How soon after bypass surgery can I start?

Gentle walking often begins in hospital itself. Structured rehab typically starts two to six weeks after surgery once your surgeon clears you, and we coordinate directly with that advice.

Do you monitor the heart during sessions?

Every session. Heart rate and perceived effort are tracked throughout, your prescribed limits are built into the plan, and we scale back at any warning sign.

My father refuses to exercise out of fear. Can you help?

This is extremely common and very workable. We start small enough to feel completely safe, show him his own improving numbers, and let the evidence do the convincing.
